A little bit of training

So it’s been a very long time since I updated anything on this blog! I aim to keep this a little more up-to-date going forward with some details of a basic (very) fitness regime I am working on whilst travelling.

Before I started travelling in April 2013 I was using the gym to do a 3 or 4 day a week workout that didn’t require any machines with the aim of continuing that whilst away. Needless to say, that hasn’t happened, yet, however it is only early days as I am going to be away for at least another year.

What has happened is that I have dropped about 8-10kg simply by eating better, eating less and drinking less. Wonderful! It was only when a friend (yes you, +Fiona Silk) said that i should try a very simply plan – 100 crunches and 50 push ups spread throughout the day – that I have started to do it! Well, part of it.

So I started doing push ups, 4 or 5 times a day just doing 10 each time. And initially 10 was hard! That was about 3 weeks ago now and I am now up to 25 reps each time and pushing now towards 30.

I haven’t started on the crunches yet, but have been doing some planking. This started at a very painful 30 seconds and I am now over 60. I want to reach 2 minutes by the end of July!

Watch this space.

Here is a link to a video I did to show Fi just what I had achieved by her gentle prod into action. Keep prodding Fi! 🙂
