I’ve had my top now for a couple of weeks but I didn’t want to wear it until I though I could do it justice. At the point of approaching the 5k mark I decided it was time to take it for its maiden run. And what a Run.
Scoot and I thought we have a crack at two laps – and we made it! for sure there were a couple of stops on the second lap – but it seems I have officially cracked the 1 lap mental barrier :-). With scoot (for a short period) actually pushing me to keep going we got round the 2 laps (4.28 miles – nearly 7k) in 44 minutes. This is marvellous progress and I have Scoot to thank – Thanks Scoot! 🙂 Route details here: http://connect.garmin.com/player/11192461
Now for some even better news! On Saturday I we went back to Brockwell park and beat our lap time – by 38 seconds!
With Scoot taking the lead and setting a fast pace we took off to Brockwell Park and Scoot was setting a fast pace and for a while I didn’t think I would be able to keep up – but keep up I did (or kept within 10 meters of him anyway) and we ploughed on round to the finish. Admittedly we only did the one lap – but I was happy to put the extra effort in and get the new lap time. That’s 3 times in a week that I’ve made it round the park without having to stop so I think this is a milestone achieved. Now to work on the 2 laps without stopping.

Excellent.
