Flooding and Running…

Rain yesterday has caused the River Bradford to overflow its banks around Youlgreave.  We have some lakes that aren’t usually there!

For some reason I decided today would be a good day for a longer run – so added a section of Lathkill (from near Congleton bridge back towards Allport) to my run but when I got there I saw the flooding is even worse along the fields there so ended up having to go over the hill and down Dark Lane to get around it – like I needed to add a hill to make it a more difficult run!

Managed my 10k though – even with the hill and being battered by a few strong gust – and luckily I missed this afternoons rain – so got home muddy, but dry.

10km; 1:06 hours. Average pace; 06:30

My first 10k of the year – indeed my first 10k since 2014!  But need to work on that time 🙂
(PB 58 minutes)
