So I have never had long hair. Like, ever. Since 2012 I’ve been buzz cutting my hair down to a couple of mm every 8-12 weeks, which means much like my beard, I have a different growth pretty much every time I see you, but as its a consistent style, it always look the same.
At the end of 2024 I decided to (on whim) to try and grow my hair. Now as many of you may know, I am going bald on my crown, so this has a high chance for hilarity/calamity/embarrassment, but I figure; what the hell.
I had a disastrous ‘trim’ in March which set the whole project back a couple of months, but now (June) its starting to get somewhere, so much so that I am now, on some days, using a headband to hold it off my ears and out of my face.
Its a work in progress, but I actually quite enjoying it. There is something quite nice about running my fingers through my hair – though that is probably just the novelty factor! I’m also quite enjoying the grey – which really starts to stand out as it gets longer. I’ve had a greying beard for years now, but the grey on my head has been a little harder to spot but now its getting longer, its actually starting to look quite cool! (imo).
